I.    NEED

To reach the summer employees of Yellowstone National Park
in Christian Ministry.

II.   GOALS

During the summer, we want to reach as many employees as possible with Christian ministry through various activities such as Bible study/share groups, recreational activities-hiking, participation in the local church, wearing Staff ministry T-shirt, Picnic Fellowships, and other ministry tools, etc.

             a.  Our primary target group is the "college-aged" employee, and
                   retired adults.

III.  ACTIONS TO REACH OUR GOALS

      A.  BIBLE STUDY/SHARE GROUPS

1.  Innovator partnership (buddy system) establish weekly Bible Study group or appropriate activities in the dorms, Rec. halls, meeting room, etc. for the employees.

               a. These will be started within your first week of Yellowstone!

               b. We will use your own creative current resources.  You could also
                   ask your group if they want to discuss a specific subject of the
                   Bible and go with that!

               c. Please try to interact as much as you can with the "Christian
                   Ministry in The Nat'l Parks"  & "Campus Crusade" ministries
                   by attending or helping with outdoor worship services, but also
                   have them attend your Bible Studies and Picnic Fellowships.

       B.   RECREATION

1.  We plan to have 5: (Mammoth Hot Springs, Canyon Village, Old Faithful Lake Yellowstone and Grant Vilage) location picnics for Innovator Staff & employee friends from your location or others w/Innovators.

 a.  Each picnic will be held As Mentioned In Calendar, starting at 6pm.  It's for the purpose of fellowship, recreation, food, devotion & Bible Study recognition at location.                

 b.  Innovators at each location are responsible for securing permit for campground/fire ring burn at Park Service office at location, ASAP or earliest date that you can make a reservation.  Refer to our staff calendar for picnic fellowship date at your location.

 c.  Innovators at each location need to plan devotion at picnic fellowship, which should consist of praise & worship music, recreation and devotion speaker. Can also include drama (skits), etc.

 d.  Be sure and highlight activities on your Summer Ministry Staff Calendar, which will be given to you at Innovator Ministry Staff Orientation.

 e.  Recreation activities at picnic fellowships will consist of volleyball, interactive games, ice breakers, skits, etc. anything that You plan.

       C.  MINISTRY STAFF ORIENTATION

1.  Innovator Summer Missionary staff orientation will be held at First Baptist Church of West Yellowstone, Montana at the West entrance of Yellowstone. This a mandatory 5 day event which requires your attendance! This event usually occurs on the weekend of Memorial Day.  Adult Mission Volunteer couple (Brad's assistants, Mom & Dad to Innovators)  will be a key resource couples provided by the North American Mission Board.  Pastor of First Baptist Church, West Yellowstone will also be of service. 

       D.   INNOVATOR STAFF RETREAT

1.  This overnight camping retreat is planned for Innovator Staff only.  Dates on calendar for this event will usually be early July. 

       E.  INVOLVEMENT IN THE LOCAL CHURCH

1.  Your "home" (interim) church for the summer will be First Baptist Church of West Yellowstone!  Your pastor and your church family at West Yellowstone is  looking forward to serving you, as you serve and minister in Yellowstone.

2.  I would like for you to request  Sunday / Mondays off.  You will get two days off per week.  A  Sun./Mon. combination will allow you to participate in worship.

3.  Would like for you to plan and be a part of First B.C. worship as much as schedule will allow.  Bible Study @ FBC at 9:00, Morning Worship at 10:00.   

4.  On Sundays if you cannot be at West Yellowstone, please offer your assistance to "Christian Ministry in the Nat'l Parks" outdoor worship services.

       F.  APPRECIATION FINAL SUNDAY

This potluck event is sponsored by First Baptist & Yellowstone Christian Innovators. It is for Innovators, their guests and/or family/parents who may be in the area at this time.

IV.   EVALUATING OUR EFFECTIVENESS

A.  EFFECTIVENESS BASED BY THESE CRITERIA:                                                                        

1.  Meeting your goals in the Yellowstone Innovator Covenant Agreement.

2.  Bible Studies conducted & participation in them, as well as personal ministry in the workplace (conversations & encounters while on your job).

3.  Participation in Orientation, Picnics, Mid-Summer retreat, & Final Sunday. 

4.  Contributing to the forming of TEAM feeling with all Innovators, 
     Brad, & Mission Missionaries (Mom & Dad) and
     Semester Missionary!! 

5.  Personal contacts: (get to know Everybody at location; bring
     them to church)

6.  Personal growth experienced!                                                                        
  7.  Decisions made (professions or rededications of faith in
       Christ)!                                    

8.  Participation in local church & Park worship; Follow-up w/new Christians!!
